Makoto, like Misato, works in the Department of Battle.
Like Maya to Ritsuko, Misato and Makoto always work together, and have even uncovered several secrets about NERV. Previously, Makoto had a secret crush on Misato, but neglected to show his feelings due to Ryouji's presence!
